Based in Tempo, Co. Fermanagh, GR White & Son Ltd has been in operation for 30 years and over the last few years has significantly increased its turnover. It recently received support from Invest NI to help with the recruitment of a quantity surveyor and to increase its marketing activities.

Congratulating the company today, the Minister said: “Securing this contract is a significant milestone for GR White & Son and reflects its focus on increasing export sales. It is particularly encouraging to see local companies continuing to grow and succeed despite the current economic difficulties. GR White & Son is an excellent example of a well established, forward looking company that has recognised the need to continue to add value to its services in order to remain competitive.”

Works for the Edinburgh contract are due to start in October 2009 with an estimated completion date of October 2010. The company anticipates that this contract has the potential to create up to 20 new jobs.

Speaking today, George White, company director, GR White and Son Ltd said: “Our strategy going forward is to focus our resources on developing the design and installation of high specification road and street lighting systems, particularly for the Republic of Ireland and Scotland markets. The support we received from Invest NI via its Western Regional Office was both valuable and timely, enabling us to further develop our range of services and raise the profile of the company in our target markets.”
